21 Jump Street Review

The hit TV show from 1987 just turned into one of the best comedies of the year, 21 Jump Street is going to leave you holding your stomach in pain from laughing so hard.

Channing Tatum throws off his normal serious role to take on the role of Jenko and Jonah Hill slims down for his part as Schmidt. The movie is written by Michael Bacall who has written other hit comedies such as, Scott Pilgrim vs the World and Project X. This movie was setup to succeed from the start with no room to fail.

The movie adaptation follows the TV show as far as young officers being sent to a high school in order to solve a crime. The movie has Jenko and Schmidt, two of the academies underachieving officers, blend into a high school in order to bring down a drug ring.

The movie opened at number one in the box office at $35 million and as of March 30th has made $115,300.00 million worldwide, though the movie isn’t number one anymore it remains the number one movie in the world right now. The movie also had a guest appearance by the star of the TV show Johnny Depp as Tom Hanson, the same character he used to play in the TV show.

There are already talks about a sequel, having Hill and Bacall writing the screenplay this time around. Tatum and Hill are also both expected to return and star in it once more. If you’re having a bad day do yourself a favor and go see this movie, if your bored do yourself a favor go see this movie...Just do yourself a favor and don’t miss this movie please, you will leave with a smile that you will have to force off your face.
